Organized by the Downtown Development Authority (DDA), the Oxford Hamburger Festival will take place Thursday, May 12th through Sunday, May 15th in downtown’s spacious southeast quadrant.
The festival will feature carnival rides all 4 days, sidewalk vendors, a beer tent with live music and dancing, local burger vendors, a best burger contest featuring Oxford restaurants and kids games in Centennial Park.
Running in conjunction with the festival will be a community wide garage sale at Oxford homes throughout the 1.4 square mile village. Sales will run May 12th – 14th from 9 am until 5 pm each day.
Oxford Community Schools is also hosting a district wide open house to showcase its educational and athletic opportunities on Saturday, May 14th from 10 am until 4 pm.
The DDA is anticipating the festival will generate a profit somewhere around the $20,000 mark. So, why an entire festival centered around hamburgers? May is National Hamburger Month.
