Sales figures for the last 43 days are mostly good, for sellers, not so good for buyers sitting out there waiting. For what? Interest rates are still low but available inventory is still down, pushing prices up.
The good news for sellers. Average sale prices are up 10% over this time last year, $186,625 vs $169,500. Homes on the market for sale are at 108 vs 117 last year, down 8%. Days on market until sold is down 14% from this time last year, 38 days compared to 44 days.
The good news for buyers. Total homes sold in this 43 day period was 17 vs 18 in 2014, down 6%.
Buyers should stop waiting. Take advantage of the current interest rates and Down Payment Assistance programs, the less homes on market will continue to push prices up and move in ready homes are selling within days.
Sellers should place their homes on the market now. Buyers are still out there, inventory is still low and prices are still climbing. Take advantage of this market …
